We are a little gang made up of family and friends, two of our crew had to battle Ovarian Cancer and one, Breast Cancer. They are still with us in spirit and will remain our inspiration and motivation.
At the end of 2011 Angela was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. During her illness, she campaigned tirelessly raising over £42,000 for cancer-related charities. She loved spending precious time away with her family & friends where she could have a break from hospitals and treatment, feel normal again and build lasting memories.
Angela wanted to help others in a similar situation. So she raised a further £13,000 to set up the A Bit of a Break fund.
Carers’ Resource manages the A Bit of a Break fund and creates the link between the eligible families and the accommodation.
Carers’ Resource exists to support carers; it is a registered charity which gives information, advice and support to carers who look after a relative or friend who, due to disability, physical or mental health condition, illness, frailty or addiction, cannot cope without their support. It is a network partner of the national Carers Trust.
