Property appeal – please can you help?

We currently have a waiting list of people who would really appreciate a break away.  One size doesn’t fit all. Be it an apartment, a lodge/caravan, a cottage, or a town house, they’re all appreciated. If you’re lucky enough to own a holiday home and could gift a week to a family living with terminal illness, the benefits are enormous. Thank you. Please read more about how our scheme works on www.abitofabreak.com or contact properties@abitofabreak.com

Laura’s Bit of a Break

Everything came together so well for 29-year-old Laura and her family to enjoy their precious holiday in the Lake District, arranged by the holiday property agency, Heart of the Lakes! Here she is enjoying great scenery, good weather with her loved ones – baby daughter, her husband, and her parents. Here’s what she told us:

‘We really enjoyed our week away in the Lake District. It was just what we all needed. The location of the cottage was amazing, and you could see Lake Windermere from the terrace. We had the best time here making memories and can’t thank you all enough. It was a break we all needed’

We are very pleased to have been featured in the March edition of Carers’ Resource Newsletter.  We would not be here without the support that we have had from Carers’ Resource and from Chris Wiley in particular.  We continue to work together and to arrange breaks for clients that they refer to us.  Click on the link below to see the article.

Raising funds – #projectlighthouse

Matthew and the Project Lighthouse team are continuing their journey around the coast ticking off lighthouses and raising funds for ABOAB.  They are amazing and we are very grateful.

Here is the 83rd lighthouse that they have visited – Tyne South Pier Lighthouse.  Visit www.projectlighthouse.blog to follow their progress and please donate to support the riders and to fund the breaks away for people living with terminal illness.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all our guests, supporters, referrers and property owners!

We send our very best wishes for 2022.

We are so pleased to be able to start arranging breaks away.  Thank you to the generosity of our property owners and our fundraisers two families have enjoyed breaks away in the Lake District in October.  The feedback that we receive shows us the enormous value of the breaks.  One relative said…..

“She had the best time and we can not
thank you enough it has truly made our
year. Thank you so much for being so
kind it is a memory myself and my family will never forget.”
“I want to thank the owners for being so
generous. It was very, very nice to get
